One man was killed and another was injured in a car accident on Saturday morning in York, Virginia. Police are still investigating the accident and do not know whether alcohol or speed were factors in the deadly traffic accident.

Virginia State Police told reporters that the single-car accident took place in front of York High School at around nine in the morning on Route 17. The driver ran off of the road for an unknown reason. The driver of the car was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The one passenger in the car was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General hospital with serious injuries but is expected to make a recovery.  The driver was 29-year-old Tyrell Ward of Yorktown, Virginia.

This fatal car accident happened just days after two other Virginians died in similar accidents – one vehicle crashes in which the police are unsure of why the car or truck left the road.
